Guess who's back, back again

Ninety-two thousand seven hundred and forty-six
This number might mean any sort of things to some people. But to me and other UGA fans or alumni of this prestigious institution, it means a lot more than can even be described. In a little less than a week, flocks of red and black clad fans will flood our UGA campus and eventually funnel their way through the many entrances of the legendary Sanford Stadium. 92,746 seats will be filled as the season opener for the UGA bulldogs commences.

As you've probably seen on social media, the UGA fans and also the UGA Athletic Association have been getting really hype about this season. The clip below was posted on the Official Georgia Football Facebook page a few days ago with the caption "One week from kickoff. Get your mind right. #ATD #BeatAppState"

I know we're all coming into this season anticipating the bigger games that'll be more interesting and in the end, maybe very upsetting to the UGA fans (lol shoutout to the Tennessee game in the last few seconds in 2016). But I think we need to take a second and appreciate how even non-football fans get sucked into the school spirit that embodies the Bulldog Nation. There's an encompassing feeling of togetherness as we gear up for the first kick-off in Sanford for the 2017-18 season. As the week starts to progress I've been seeing the game-day porta-potties being set up, girls buying game-day dresses from downtown boutiques, people sporting Georgia flags on their cars and houses, and the buses have their support system going on as well through the messages they flash.
Everyone's ready for a chance to tailgate, cheer on their Dawgs in a somewhat classy way and listen to Larry Munson's raspy voice to signal that we're back and ready to play some kick-ass football.

  1. This blog post just got my so hyped! Just like all the videos and pictures I'be been seeing on the Georgia Football Instagram account. I think it's safe to say that anyone who sees these videos would be excited about a Saturday in Athens. Promoting Georgia football not only brings the school, alumni, and other fans together it also promotes sales for businesses in Athens wether it be Chick-fil-a at the stadium, liquor stores, downtown restaurants, as you mentioned boutiques, and even the companies who provide those porta-potties. The more people that decide to come cheer on the dawgs, the better for everyone! And these hype videos can be crucial in exciting the bulldawg nation to come out. I have friends who watch hype videos from previous years the morning of the game, just because it gets them so excited!
